This Privacy Policy was last revised on June 6, 2025.
General
Glintect, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") delivers automated visual inspection of line-based manufactured goods through computer vision and our platform-as-a-service offering. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and complying with all applicable data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This Privacy Policy governs the Glintect web-based Visual Inspection Platform and its associated services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to Glintect's collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described herein. Please note that Glintect continuously tests and enhances its products and features; certain capabilities described in this Privacy Policy may not be available to all users or in all regions.
Information We Collect
When you use the Service, Glintect may collect the following categories of personal information, solely as provided by you:
Account Information
To access the Glintect platform, you or your organization must provide a name and email address. We do not collect sensitive personal data and do not sell or share this information with third parties. We also receive photos or videos of your manufactured products, captured by on-site cameras for processing purposes; this data is not sold to any third party.
Activity Data & IP Addresses
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect usage data, including browser and device information, system log data, and IP addresses.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance the functionality and performance of our web application. This section describes the cookies we deploy and explains how to manage your preferences.
Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies (no consent required). We use cookies to store session tokens and user time zone by default. These cookies are essential to: maintain your authenticated session; preserve session security; and enable core application features such as form submissions and page navigation. The application cannot function without these cookies.
Analytics Cookies (EU consent required). We use Microsoft Clarity, a third-party analytics service, to collect anonymized behavioral data — including pages viewed and time on page, clicks, scroll depth, mouse movements, and session identifiers. This data supports ongoing improvements to application usability and design. These cookies do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, photos, or passwords. For more information, visit: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You will be prompted to acknowledge this Privacy Policy upon first login. Cookie preferences may be managed through your browser or operating system settings.
Why We Collect Your Data
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provision access to and operate the Glintect platform
- To communicate with you regarding account-related matters, including platform updates and scheduled maintenance
- To process uploaded images or videos in furtherance of the Service's core inspection function
- To maintain system integrity and continuously improve the user experience
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significant consequences.
How We Process Your Information
Glintect processes your personal information on the following legal bases: to provide the products or services you have requested; to advance Glintect's legitimate business interests; to fulfill legal obligations; and with your consent. Specifically, Glintect may process and share your personal information as described below:
Providing and Improving the Service
By creating a Glintect account, you acknowledge and agree that we may send essential service-related communications. These may include notices of software version releases, scheduled maintenance windows, security alerts, or other information necessary for proper service delivery. Such communications are issued on the lawful basis of contractual necessity; because they are integral to operating and maintaining your account, you may not opt out without closing your account.
SMS Communications: If you contact our Customer Support team, you may opt in to receive SMS and/or email communications. We collect your phone number or email address solely when voluntarily provided for support purposes. Standard carrier messaging rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS or email communications at any time by replying "UNSUBSCRIBE." Glintect does not conduct SMS marketing campaigns.
Third Parties Supporting the Messaging Service: We will not share your SMS opt-in status with third parties for purposes unrelated to supporting your use of our Service. We may share your personal data with service providers involved in message delivery, including platform operators, telecommunications carriers, and related vendors. In all cases, text messaging originator opt-in data and consent records are excluded from such sharing and will not be disclosed to any third party.
We collect user-uploaded images to detect specified defects or patterns. These images may carry metadata such as timestamps and filenames. All uploaded images are analyzed by AI models to identify targeted features or anomalies. We use this data exclusively to deliver the requested Service and do not leverage it to train or refine our models unless the user provides explicit consent. Images are analyzed in real time and are not permanently retained on our servers. Uploaded data is automatically archived after 30 days; archived data is permanently deleted after 180 days. If a customer requests retrieval of archived data, the 180-day retention period resets from the date of that request. Only data strictly necessary to service delivery is shared with third parties.
We store and process this data — which may constitute personal information — using secure cloud infrastructure provided by Microsoft Azure. Azure is an enterprise-grade cloud provider that adheres to leading security and compliance standards, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
Azure hosts and stores the following data categories on our behalf:
- Customer account information
- Captured image and video files
- System logs and usage analytics
All data stored in Azure is encrypted at rest and in transit, with access governed by role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication. Microsoft serves as our data subprocessor for these purposes and does not access or use your data beyond what is required to provide hosting services.
We maintain full control over your personal information and have implemented supplementary safeguards to ensure compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other applicable laws.

Model Training and Improvement
To deliver our services, we process customer-supplied data — such as images or videos — which may incidentally contain personal information (e.g., facial imagery) or may be regarded as personal information by certain customers. This processing underpins our AI systems, including data annotation and labeling activities used to train or refine computer vision models.
We engage the following third-party services to support these activities:
- Labelbox: Labelbox is a secure, third-party data annotation and management platform. We use it to:
- Annotate customer-supplied content for model training and validation
- Monitor annotation progress and enforce quality assurance standards
- Third-Party Annotation Vendors: We may also engage vetted third-party annotation teams who access only the data required to complete assigned labeling tasks within the Labelbox environment. These parties are:
- Contractually engaged as service providers
- Obligated to adhere to strict confidentiality and data protection requirements
- Prohibited from using or disclosing data for any purpose other than the assigned task
All subprocessors — including Labelbox and external annotation teams — are subject to due diligence review and bound by data processing agreements consistent with the CCPA and other applicable laws.
Data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the annotation or model development purpose, unless otherwise required by contract or law. We do not sell this data. Data is shared exclusively with subprocessors acting as service providers, solely to deliver contracted services. To the extent that any photographic files — which are generally not considered personal information — are shared with Labelbox, Inc. or other subprocessors, those parties are engaged as "Service Providers" as defined under the CCPA and shall not:
- Retain, use, or disclose personal information for any purpose other than performing the Services specified in the applicable agreement, or as otherwise permitted by law
- Sell or share personal information
- Combine personal information received from Glintect with other data unless expressly authorized
- Labelbox: Labelbox is a secure, third-party data annotation and management platform. We use it to:
Legal Compliance and Harm Prevention
Glintect may process and disclose personal information to the extent required to respond to legal process, including subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful government requests. We may also share personal information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law; protect our rights, interests, or property; prevent fraud or other unlawful activity; support law enforcement; or prevent imminent harm. Such disclosure may involve other companies, legal counsel, agents, or governmental authorities.
Marketing Communications
We do not send marketing or promotional emails without your explicit prior consent.
Your Data Subject Rights
In addition to any other rights conferred by applicable law, you have the following rights with respect to the personal information we hold about you:
- The right to know what personal information we have collected about you
- The right to access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- The right to know what personal information about you has been shared with third parties
- The right not to be discriminated against for exercising your data subject rights
- The right to request deletion of any personal information we have collected from you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information
- The right to receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format

- The right to request account deletion through your Company Account Administrator
You may update or correct your account information at any time via your Settings page. To request access to or erasure of your personal information, or to submit other privacy-related inquiries, please email help@glintect.com.
Please note that these rights are not absolute. Glintect reserves the right to decline requests to exercise data subject rights where a legitimate basis exists — for example, where identity cannot be verified, where fulfillment would infringe the rights of a third party or violate applicable law, or where the request would impair a Glintect service or prevent delivery of a service you have requested.
Data Retention
Glintect generally retains your personal information for the life of your account. However, certain information may be retained for longer periods as necessary to deliver the Service; defend our legitimate interests or those of third parties; comply with applicable legal obligations; resolve or contest disputes; investigate misuse or service disruption; or fulfill contractual obligations. Anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.
As a general rule:
- Email address and name are retained for the duration of account activity, or as required to deliver the Service
- Photos and videos are stored on a temporary basis and are automatically purged after the applicable retention period, unless otherwise specified
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Data may be shared only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf under binding data protection agreements.
Do Not Track
The Service does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals transmitted by web browsers.
Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our information practices. If changes are material, we will publish a notice on the Platform for at least seven (7) days prior to the effective date and update the revision date at the bottom of this policy. All changes become effective at the end of that seven (7) day notice period.
International Data Transfers
Glintect is headquartered in the United States and processes all data within the United States. The level of data protection in the United States may differ from that of your home jurisdiction.
